On-site case study

Real-time alarming and problem detection for sludge process using real-time images. This case study involves using visual sensors and imaging to monitor sludge characteristics and water content for problem detection and operational parameter tuning in a municipal wastewater treatment plant. The aim is to meet stringent discharge standards and restrictions, with linked authorities including municipalities and the Ministry of Environment Urbanization and Climate Change. The research to be developed includes the installation of a camera setup, data collection and processing of images to assess the water content of sludge. Involved partners include NMBU, UNIVPM/WWEE Lab, and TUBITAK MAM.
