SMART4ENV 2nd Summer School: A Recap of Innovation and Inspiration

Date

BETA Technological Center (BETA TC) recently hosted the 2nd SMART4ENV Summer School, an intensive three-day program that brought together students, professionals, and experts to explore “Strategies for Adapting to and Mitigating the Effects of Climate Change in the Agricultural Sector.”

This dynamic event delved into crucial topics shaping the future of sustainable agriculture:

  • Nutrient Management: Participants learned about nutrient recovery approaches, regenerative practices, and carbon stock management for healthier soils.
  • Sustainable Practices: Exploration of biofertilizers, organic farming, and digital tools for soil and fertilizer management were highlights.
  • Water Management: The program emphasized smart water management systems, waste valorization, digital irrigation, and wastewater solutions.
  • Nature-Based Solutions: Attendees discovered the power of treating and reclaiming water using natural methods and the value of water management digitalization.

The SMART4ENV Summer School provided a platform for knowledge exchange and hands-on learning. We are immensely grateful to our speakers for sharing their expertise, to all the participants for their enthusiasm, and to BETA TC for their exceptional hospitality.

We would also like to express our sincere thanks to Selda Murat from TUBITAK MAM, our project coordinator.

The SMART4ENV team works tirelessly to promote climate-smart agriculture solutions. The success of this summer school highlights the dedication and collaborative spirit of our community. We look forward to continuing the conversation and driving positive change at future SMART4ENV events.

Stay tuned for more exciting developments!
